To reach Casa Brandolini, once the three kilometres of road
linking Palau to Capo d’Orso have been completed, an un-made up road leads
for about a kilometre to a private car park; from here, there is a
gentle walk along a downward pathway for about a hundred metres
(a drop of about 20 metres), amid the bushes and undergrowth
of the macchia mediterranea.
The house is surrounded by rocks and a variety of plants,
such as myrtle, juniper, ilex and strawberry trees; by
walking across the rock surfaces, you can easily reach
the sea; from rocks, sculpted by the sea and the wind,
you can dive into the sea, which is instantly deep and
is clean and limpid, thanks to the current and the maestro
wind blowing dry and fresh from the west. Long swims and
walks can be enjoyed all along the coast. From the front
of the house, you can gaze at the islands of Maddalena,
Caprera, Spargi, and Santo Stefano, and, in the distance,
the mountain peaks of Corsica. In front of the house there
are rocks. Some rocks descend in the water very smoothly.
If you are reasonably athletic you can dive in and get
out just over the rocks; if you are not so athletic you
can let yourself slide in, and get out by sitting and
making your way backwards to the dry rock. |

| There are different points in front of the house
where you can get in the water, so that depending on the wind,
there is always at least one spot whitout any waves.
Right in front of the house there is a wonderful
natural water pool (about 200 square meters) where the water
is between 1 and 3 feet deep. This is where one normally keeps
the fiberglass rowing boat, or potentially a Zodiac or an inflatable boat. |

From the north-facing house in the summer months you can watch the sun
rise and set. |

The
house is spread over a surface area of approximately
180 square metres and follows the slope of the land.

| On the upper level are three bedrooms (two double and
one with four bunk beds) and two small bathrooms. On the intermediate level, there is a small study with a pull-out bed. On the lower floor, there is a large living room with two pull-out beds, a large portico/verandah (where most of the day is normally spent), a kitchen, boxroom and a third small bathroom. Except for the kitchen, the windows of all the rooms look out over the sea. |

As things stand at the moment, the house does not have drinking water, has no television,
broadband, heating or dishwasher. In the summer months, a 3,000-litre tank is filled with
water twice a week. The house has no air-conditioning since there is never any need for it;
the maestro wind is more efficient. The house is simple and spartan, but in excellent condition
and in perfect working order; it provides an opportunity for total immersion in nature
and complete distancing from the stress that people end up living with for most of the year.
It is a house for people who want just what it offers.
