Overview

Cutignolo Podere  is a generous, colourful and cheerful house. Filled with sun light, large french windows on the ground floor rooms allow you to move freely between indoors and outside. The front of the house has a spacious pergola with table and chairs.The decoration of the house is the result of a family collaboration in choosing the colours, actually doing the paint-work, designing the kitchen and finding the right furniture at antique shops and markets. The swimming pool 7 x 15 metres is equipped with sun beds and deck chairs.

The house is surrounded by vineyards  and open landscape, the woods of Marsiliana beginning in the background. Next to the house a road (cars can be heard from the house) leads from the hamlet of Marsiliana to Capalbio, a charming Tuscan hilltop village which has become fashionable over the last 10 years.

The beach is at a distance of 14 kms.  The main hamlet of Marsiliana is 5 kms away. This is also the closest shopping area with a small supermarket, a bar, a bank and a post office.

Dear Sabina, How lovely to get your email. We did indeed have a wonderful time during our stay at Podere del Cutignolo, and as I mentioned to Silva upon our departure, we would like to rent the house again -- if not this summer, then next. Unfortunately, our time in Italy has come to an end. We returned to the States at the end of August, in time for the children to start the school year. But, it was really a fantastic year in Rome and a magical summer. I have yet to edit and post the last week or two of our "year" to my blog. I want to bind "A Year in Rome" as a book for our children (and me) so that they can enjoy the wonderful memories of our stay. I hope all is well with you and that our paths may cross again.

Dear Sabina, Thank you so much for your email, you live in a beautiful part of the world, and we enjoyed your hospitality very much. I am embarrassed I have not written since returning to say 'thank you' for a fantastic stay, after being away for a month, we soon got back to normal life on our return with work, children's school and everything at home, but we still have fantastic memories of our time in your beautiful country. We will always remember the Corsini estate, and especially the Recital evening. We would love to come and stay again in a few years, in the meantime if you are ever in Australia we would love look after you in Sydney.
