OVERVIEW Castello di Galbino

Tucked away into the hills of Arezzo lies the magic Castello di Galbino, a large and welcoming family castle surrounded by seemingly endless fields and hills covered in olive groves and woods.

The castle has a basic square shape with a raised central section and four round towers on the corners. Elegant arched loggias with stone columns, added during its renaissance period conversion, run along two sides.

The glazed loggia with frescoed vaulted ceilings leads onto a small chapel, making it the perfect place for spending a lazy afternoon. The light filters through the sheer curtains, creating a serene ambiance. The main dining room has French windows opening onto the terrace and garden, where another table and chairs await for outdoor meals. The twin bedroom with frescoed ceilings is probably the most beautiful bedroom in the castle. But all bedrooms have a special feature, be it painted beams or antique furniture, and all are adorned with cotton weaves made by the local firm Busatti, renowned for its quality and available worldwide.

In 2025, the Castello di Galbino underwent a significant transformation, adding modern comforts while preserving its historic charm. The entire castle is now equipped with air conditioning and central heating for year-round comfort. The Limonaia has been fully renovated into a spacious ~200 m² guest area, complete with bathrooms and often used for yoga or gym sessions.

On the top floor, an entertainment area has been added, including a cinema room, a kids’ room, and spaces for ping-pong and billiards, making it a perfect spot for family and guests to unwind. The first floor now includes a dedicated reading and work area, with large wired tables for those needing a quiet retreat. All castle bedrooms now benefit from wired internet access, ensuring modern connectivity while staying in this historic setting.

The garden has been redesigned, featuring expansive flat areas, extensive planting, a well-maintained lawn, and full outdoor lighting, enhancing the beauty of the surroundings at night.

Stone steps lead to the infinity-edge pool that seems to melt into the valley. At night the new lighting paints the façade amber while fireflies drift in the hedges. Breakfast is usually on the north terrace; dinner might be a relaxed barbecue under the stars, or a candlelit feast prepared by our local chef.

The garden melts seamlessly into the surrounding landscape, inviting long walks, while the pool, situated a little above the house, offers soaring views of the enchanting Tuscan landscape. The pool is also fenced for the safety of small children.
