You will reach this apartment over an external staircase which is grown with luscious roses and climbers of all sorts. The light and friendly rooms create an appealing atmosphere. The apartment has been decorated with interesting antiques.

This apartment is an unusual place. Upon entering the house from the courtyard you will be stunned by the large and beautifully decorated living room, which has 3 windows looking out over the valley. The sofa and armchairs are grouped around a grand fireplace, whereas the antique dining table stands at the other end of the main room. A lovely old refectory table serves as a sideboard. Large modern paintings by the son of the owner complete the eclectic decor. The kitchen has a traditional look, but the technical equipment is up to most modern standards.

Sassaia sits on the slopes of the famous Orcia valley and is surrounded by magnificent evergreen oak trees typical of Tuscany. Beyond are open fields and views across the valley to the Radicofani fortress on the far-away blue hill.

On the ground floor what used to be the cows’ barn has been converted into a large summer room leading out to the garden. Seven windows flood the room with light, the mangers have been turned into benches with cushions. An open fireplace, comfortable sofas and armchairs make this room pleasantly informal and comfortable. In one corner a simple kitchen with fridge caters to outdoor life. A double room with an en-suite bathroom opens out onto the garden and has been adapted for wheel chair use.

A spiral Renaissance-style travertine staircase leads to the upper floor. Here a stunning central living room with windows looking out on both sides, a fireplace and a large African hardwood dining table communicates with a large Tuscan kitchen with an old beam and local travertine hood running along one wall. A waist-high fireplace is a local feature which makes it easy to cook over the fire. The kitchen walls have been painted a stunning blue lime wash in the characteristic style of the old kitchens in peasant farms, as blue was supposed to keep the flies away in the summer. As you will see from the plan of the house two bedrooms have en suite bathrooms while two share a bathroom.

The garden, shaded by old oak trees, has been designed to blend in naturally with the surroundings. Climbing roses, hydrangea petiolaris, lavender, cystus, rosemary and honeysuckle mix well with the old oak and fruit trees. Meals can be taken under a pergola covered by wisteria, roses and grapevines. A 10 by 5 meter fenced pool is tucked away at the far end of the garden.

A small house, which used to be the pig pen, hen house and ox barn, Casa del Bove, and is now a charming and cosy loft with old tie beams and a large fireplace, has two further bedrooms and bathrooms.

This immaculately restored farmhouse crowns a secluded hill on one of Italy’s most prestigious private estates, home to mature woods, olive groves and the renowned Antognolla Golf Course. Monticelli consists of a main villa and a guest house encircled by 10,000 m² of landscaped gardens of flowers, aromatic plants, shrubs and ancient olive trees. Extensive renovations have wonderfully retained the buildings’ original wooden beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and several large fireplaces. The refined decor successfully blends classic style with contemporary appeal thanks to antiques, leather armchairs, vintage print fabrics, velour cushions and carefully chosen art objects. The renovations also added large glass doors for direct access outside, spacious walk-in showers, free-standing bathtubs and other luxuries.

There are two sitting rooms in the main villa, equipped with comfortable seating, a large open fireplace and large smart TV. The spacious kitchen is fitted with marble countertops and all new appliances. It leads onto the elegant indoor dining room as well as to the outdoor dining terrace. In the main villa there are also four air-conditioned bedrooms; three king-size double bedrooms, with en-suite bathrooms, and a twin bedroom with double bunk beds for the kids. The adjacent guest house has a well-equipped kitchen, a sitting room with fireplace and two additional king-size bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

Next to the main villa is an expansive panoramic terrace with a covered pergola with a dining table for 10, a sitting with outdoor sofas and a sunny lounge area. There are several other more intimate sitting areas around the property where you can enjoy the views or a quiet moment. There is an additional covered pergola next to the large infinity pool which is also bordered by sun beds and umbrellas.

There is plenty to do right on the sprawling 18,000-hectare estate, including forest walks, pic nics on the estate’s lake, renting a bike, horseback riding, a meal at the estate’s Il Caldaro restaurant or a day at the golf course. Within less than a half an hour you can also reach the picturesque and cultural city of Perugia or beautiful Lake Trasimeno.

The interior restoration has retained the house’s historic features, such as terracotta tiles, wooden beams and stone fireplaces, while adding contemporary flare and comforts. There is a spacious living room, a smaller sitter room, a games room and a TV room with a piano. For indoor dining, there is a large square table that seats 12 and a small breakfast table in the kitchen, which is equipped with all new appliances.

The six en suite bedrooms are individually decorated and have wooden beams, model floral wallpaper, stylish design objects and comfortable sitting areas. The en suite bathrooms have luxurious fixtures and large showers and/or a bathtub. The ground floor sitting room can be used as an additional bedroom, with en suite, adapted to guests in a wheelchair or with reduced mobility.

The Scicli Sicilia estate is reached over a small country road bordered by dry stone walls that leads up the hill, 10 minutes from the coast. The estate is made up of 2 houses that are let together – Casuzza and Irminio. They sit above a small valley dotted with Carob trees and distant farmhouses.
The two houses are approx. 300 meters from each other. Between the two houses lies the pool with breathtaking views. The larger house Casuzza has 3 bedrooms, the smaller house Irminio also has 3 bedrooms. Both houses are fully air conditioned.
Casuzza: this is an old farm built in the honelycoloured local stone which blends in with the surrounding terraced fields. From the terrace you can see right down to the sea. The owner’s son is an architect and did a fabulous job marrying the original features of the property with modern architecture.
The ground floor living rooms, dining room and kitchen all flow into each other and all have French doors onto the terrace. The master bedroom also lies on the ground floor. It has two bathrooms, one with tub and one with shower.
Open stairs with no railing lead to the upper floor where you will find two bedrooms (twins or doubles as you prefer), each with its own bathroom.
Casuzza is fully air-conditioned but also stays naturally cool thanks to the extremely thick walls.

Irminio: this second house was built in 2020. All rooms are on the ground floor. The open living and dining room with adjacent kitchen opens onto a 40m2 loggia, which is where most of the time is spent in summer. A double room with en suite bath opens onto a second terrace. There are two more rooms, each with its own bathroom.

The 12m long lap pool lies between the two houses. It is surrounded by carob trees which give pleasant shade. There is a table with chairs and large mattresses for sunbathing.
Natural shade is provided by the carob trees which cast their shade over a dining terrace and the sunbeds. Close to the pool a small stone shed is used to store the sunbeds.

San Polino comprises three buildings built in the local stone surrounded by mature trees, manicured lawns and well-maintained vineyards. Its bright and airy rooms are accented by with stylish contemporary furnishings in vivid blues, greens and other dashes of colour.

The main house contains a spacious double living room with a large fireplace, two sitting areas and a TV area to one side. The dining area, with views onto the valley, is found down a few steps below the open kitchen, which also has direct access to the outdoor covered dining terrace. There is also a small living room and a breakfast kitchen in the second house.

The bedrooms are spread across the buildings and many have direct access outdoors, providing guests with enhanced privacy and independence. They are individually decorated with special features like cast iron or wooden beds. All have recently redone en-suite bathrooms, and some have private terraces and/or living areas.One bedroom is located in the adjacent cottage which also has a kitchen and small living area. There is one last en-suite bedroom in the Capanna Annex, where the villa’s well-equipped gym, sauna and shower room are also found.

There are various outdoor living areas for savoring the picturesque setting. Guests can cool down in the infinity pool and ease their muscles in the outdoor Jacuzzi, both of which boast panoramic views over the Chianti hills.

There are five double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, all with air condition. Then there is a family suite, which is a connecting double with AC and twin without AC. The beds of this twin bedroom are 1.80 long so only adapted to children. The all new bathrooms have a mix of showers and tubs.

Adjacent to the main house is a charming two-story cottage. It has its own kitchen and living room with a fireplace, a double bedroom with en-suite and a bedroom with 2 twin beds and en- suite. It has a lovely outdoor table under a shaded terrace with pretty views where guests of the cottage can start their day over a sunny breakfast.

Due to the serene, picturesque location and its convenient layout, Castelrotto is an excellent venue for yoga, painting or cooking retreats, a great local cook can be hired on request. In addition to the enjoyment of the property, guests can sample the estate’s organic wines at its historic cantina. Further wine tasting can be done in the vicinity, the famed Montalcino wine region. The area offers an abundance of other activities, including biking, golf, spas, visiting historic villages and the cultural highlights of Siena, is a mere 40-minute drive away.

Nestled within an olive grove and the rolling fields of Southern Tuscany, this airy villa with a pool offers exceptional country living coupled with the convenience of being walking distance (30 mins of which part is uphill) to the hilltop town of Cetona, considered one of Italy’s prettiest villages.

Comprised of a main building and a guest house, the villa was entirely restored in the 1990s, a project overseen by one of the owner’s architect daughter and with the help of gifted local craftsmen. Filled with wonderful natural light, the interiors feature wooden beamed ceilings and have been tastefully decorated with a mix of antiques and contemporary design items, including works from the owner’s private contemporary art collection. The villa also boasts an under-floor cooling system.

Entering the villa through arched French doors is an inviting entrance, the center of the vast open plan living area. On one side is the living area, with seating in tones of beige and orange, a working fireplace and direct access onto the terrace. One the other side is the refined dining room, with a large wooden table, stylish leather seats and further doors leading outside. Beyond this is the kitchen, well equipped with modern appliances and a central island with a six-burner gas stove. On the ground floor you will also find a TV room and a guest bathroom.

Upstairs is a landing with armchairs and three spacious double bedrooms. Each has its own chic decor, enticing views over the landscape and en-suite bathroom, two of which have bathtubs. The fourth en-suite double bedroom is found in the guest house. Two additional guests can be hosted on folding beds which can be set up in the main villa.

Located next to the pool, the guest house is also home to an additional bathroom and a charming open portico with a bench sofa and chairs, the perfect place to relax in the shade after a swim. Guests can also soak up the sun on the sunbeds surrounding the pool. If you haven’t taken a stroll into Cetona for aperitivo or dinner, you can enjoy these, in addition to sweeping views of the countryside and the rooftops of the village, from the alluring al fresco dining terrace, covered by an iron pergola with climbing roses.

MINIMUM STAY 3 NIGHTS

Located within the historic Venetian palace the Ca’nova, found right at the mouth of the Grand Canal and within a five-minute walk of Saint Mark’s Square, this spacious and refined one-bedroom apartment was completely restored and redecorated in spring 2019.

Lipparini is on the palazzo’s first floor, the so-called Piano Nobile which traditionally has the most elegant rooms. True to its origins the apartment has beautiful parquet flooring and particularly high ceilings, its tall windows casting in wonderful light from the quiet and sunny square it faces.

The living room and bedroom are of the same size and have been decorated under the personal supervision of Trust&Travel’s founder Katharina Allès Trauttmandorff, successfully marrying classic Italian elegance with modern appeal. The living and dining room has a comfortable sitting area, dining table for 6 and an antique divan that can be turned into a third bed. The bedroom has a super-king size bed, with a magical Venetian style canopy, a walk-in closet and an en-suite bathroom with a large shower.

There is a second guest WC in the entry and a large well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast table where you can enjoy your freshly delivered morning croissant or prepare meals. All guests of the palazzo have access to a lovely shared terrace found on the 5th floor.

Lipparini can be linked through an internal staircase to the apartment Hayez which lies one floor above.
